blank walls are everywhere,

and my ghosts are everywhere

an excerpt from an ever-growing list of my ghosts:

1. a wiggly section of an AC/DC tape that sat in my hot car for too long,
2. that taco truck,
3. a bush I used to walk past and remember that it used to have roses on it,
4. a predictably flat stretch of freeway between Michigan and Ohio,
5. the fuzzy blank edge of the half-exposure at the end of a roll of film that I use as a bookmark,
6. my blue tank top,
7. the spot on my wall I used to stare at while thinking about all my other ghosts before falling asleep at night

if I stare at the blank wall for long enough, it will remind the ghosts to say hello, though they do not expect a response from me
